AZ St-Maarten

Mechelen

Mission

Campus Rooienberg in Duffel and campuses Leopoldstraat and Zwartzustervest in Mechelen joined forces and merged into a new regional hospital: AZ Sint-Maarten.
Within this merger, all parties wanted to transform the naked structure into a new, functional and ultramodern hospital, with a comfortable touch for the patient.
An impressive mission completely tailor-made for Group Jansen.
With our knowledge and expertise in terms of hospital construction, we had to transform this setting into a warm and cosy place, where care for people is central.
A good example of this is the choice for the many glass windows. The patient always has a view on the green environment and is constantly connected to the outside world. Staying in such an environment will undoubtedly support and accelerate your healing process.

Result

A spacious hospital where comfort is key
With a surface area of no less than 105.000 m², this brand-new hospital, AZ Sint-Maarten, accommodates 654 hospitalisation beds, a day hospitalisation with 96 places and a well-developed polyclinic.
We successfully carried out this gigantic project thanks to the constructive cooperation between eight Group Jansen divisions and subcontractors.
Some impressive figures: 120 plasterboard football pitches, 150.000 m² of interior walls, 450.000 running meter profiles, more than 6.000 interior doors and 525.000 screws were incorporated in this project.
In addition, we also applied the popular BIM working method during the construction of this hospital.
